CoolStream A evaporative cooling and ventilation system with heat reclaim

CoolStream A provides low-cost evaporative cooling (adiabatic cooling) and ventilation principally for larger industrial and commercial premises. It has been hygienically tested and certified to VDI 6022.

The CoolStream A evaporative cooler helps keep larger internal spaces pleasantly cool all year round. It doesn’t need to cost the earth: using the cooling power of water, it’s possible to achieve low energy cooling.

Cooling, ventilation and heat reclaim within one system

CoolStream A is an enhanced input ventilation system, which means it can be used in spring and summer with the cooling function only being operated when conditions dictate. Excess heat is normally removed at high level via natural ventilators, providing a pleasant temperature in the internal space.

CoolStream A reduces heating costs

It also includes the option of heat reclaim. If there is enough heat in the building, it can provide heating via recirculation all year round. If it is cooler outside and some additional heat is needed, the fresh outdoor air is mixed with the warm air within the building. The supply air then ensures a pleasant temperature. This method of making use of the warmer air at high level reduces the heating bill considerably. Two infinitely variable actuators control the proportion of air that is recirculated.

Installation

Compared to CoolStream T, where they are on the roof, its downstream components are inside the building.

How evaporative cooling systems work

By passing warm outdoor air across a desorption medium, energy is exchanged and a significant reduction in air temperature is achieved. The warmer and drier the outdoor air, the more efficient the evaporative cooling process is.

Applications for CoolStream systems

Evaporative cooling systems provide an efficient and effective alternative to conventional air conditioning, particularly with those industrial and semi-industrial facilities which do not require an absolutely constant internal temperature at all times, and where these buildings are generally simply too large for conventional air conditioning to be cost-effective.

Energy and water efficient

Evaporative cooling systems are up to seven times more efficient than conventional air conditioning systems and infact the warmer the outside air, the more efficient the evaporative cooling process is.

Simplicity of controls

Colt Cortiva is easy to use and, most significantly, available via a tablet PC or a smart phone. It requires no special knowledge to configure the HVAC system or to make changes to the individual parameters.

Description

Highly efficient evaporative cooling (adiabatic cooling) system, using the principle of evaporative cooling to provide cooled air as part of a balanced ventilation system, in situations where conventional air conditioning is not cost-effective. Incorporates heat reclaim. Downstream components inside the building.

Uses full fresh air to maintain good air quality, with integrated water quality control system. Tested to VDI 6022 with an HVAC hygiene certificate. Incorporates a low energy EC fan. Suitable for connecting to an air handling / input system.
