How evaporative cooling systems work

By passing warm outdoor air across a desorption medium, energy is exchanged and a significant reduction in air temperature is achieved. The warmer and drier the outdoor air, the more efficient the evaporative cooling process is.

Applications for CoolStream systems

Evaporative cooling systems provide an efficient and effective alternative to conventional air conditioning, particularly with those industrial and semi-industrial facilities which do not require an absolutely constant internal temperature at all times, and where these buildings are generally simply too large for conventional air conditioning to be cost-effective.

Energy and water efficient

Evaporative cooling systems are up to seven times more efficient than conventional air conditioning systems and infact the warmer the outside air, the more efficient the evaporative cooling process is.

Simplicity of controls

Colt Cortiva is easy to use and, most significantly, available via a tablet PC or a smart phone. It requires no special knowledge to configure the HVAC system or to make changes to the individual parameters.

Description

CoolStream R provides a complete air conditioning solution over the entire year using evaporative (adiabatic) cooling technology. Cooling, heating, heat reclaim, air filtration and ventilation are all combined within one unit. Incorporates two low-energy EC fans. A "plug and play unit" supplied ready for connection to services.

Casing

Double-walled casing, panel galvanised steel with 200 μm plastic coating on both sides; inside completely smooth, cold-bridge free insulation using fire-resistant 44 mm mineral wool. U-value of the casing 0.7 W/m²K.

Airflow

The unit has a nominal airflow of 5.0 m³/s (18000 m³/h) without filters. The airflow is determined by the filter class and the external pressure drop.
